Processor & Memory
The processor is enhanced in the new iPhone 5 with A6 chip taking the center stage. The new chip boasts of 2 times better performance than the chip found in the older version however, the exact speed of the processor is not yet known. As far as iPhone 4S is concerned, it came with a dual core 800 MHz A5 chip and 512 MB of RAM. We are expecting the iPhone 5 to come with at least 1 GB of RAM.

Yes, the iPhone 5 comes with a larger display, 4-inch Retina display with 326 PPI. It sports a resolution of 1136 x 640 and a 16:9 aspect ratio while its predecessor has 3.5 inch screen size with a resolution of 640×960 at 326 PPI. The iPhone 5 offers same storage options as iPhone 4S: 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB.
Network
For the first time iPhone comes with 4G. The iPhone 5 will support HSPA+, DC-HSDPA and LTE. The WiFi connectivity feature has also improved on the new iPhone with speeds up to 15MBps. No 4G was available before on iPhone 4S.
Weight and Dimensions
The new version of iPhone is lighter and thinner than its predecessor. Compared to iPhone 4S which was 9.3 mm thick and weighed 140 grams, the iPhone 5 is 20% lighter at 112 grams and 18% thinner at 7.6 mm.
